NOTICE TO OUR STUDENTS!

Recognition of Prior and Extracurricular Learning at Hacettepe University

Dear Students,

In accordance with Article 6 (Application) of the Hacettepe University Directive on the Recognition of Prior and Extracurricular Learning, which entered into force following the decision of the Hacettepe University Senate dated 30 May 2024 (Decision No. 2024-59), students of the Faculty of Fine Arts may submit applications to their respective departments for the recognition of prior and extracurricular learning between 2 March 2026 and 15 May 2026.

Under the Hacettepe University Directive on the Recognition of Prior and Extracurricular Learning, students have the opportunity to receive ECTS credits for knowledge and competencies acquired outside the formal curriculum through various learning experiences. Examples of eligible learning outcomes include:

  • Professional work experience
  • Projects
  • Voluntary/community service activities
  • Certificate programs
  • Academic publications
  • Conference presentations

Please note that studio courses, theses, and graduation projects are not eligible for recognition under this scheme.

The relevant regulations of Hacettepe University and the Faculty of Fine Arts concerning the Recognition of Prior and Extracurricular Learning are available through the links below.

Students wishing to apply must first complete their application through the Student Information System (BİLSİS) by following the instructions illustrated in the Application Process document below. After submitting the online application, applicants must deliver their complete application file, including all supporting documentation related to their extracurricular learning activities, to the Department of Sculpture Secretariat, Faculty of Fine Arts.

Supporting documents must bear the official signature, stamp, or QR/barcode verification of the organizing institution and must clearly indicate the duration (hours) of the activity.

Applications approved in accordance with the relevant regulations will be submitted by the Faculty to the Registrar's Office (Student Affairs Department) for final approval. Once approved, the recognized activities will appear on the student's transcript under "Prior and Extracurricular Learning."

Application Requirements and Supporting Documents

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Applications may only be submitted by students enrolled in the Department of Sculpture.
  2. The activity must have been completed during the student's period of enrollment in the program.
  3. The activity must not have been undertaken as part of a course, studio, graduation project, thesis, or compulsory practical training.

Required Documents

The application file must include the following:

  • Completed application petition;
  • An artistic portfolio describing the nature and scope of the activity;
  • An official certificate or confirmation of participation for exhibitions, projects, competitions, or other relevant activities;
  • Visual and written documentation of the work or activity;
  • An official document approved by the organizing institution;
  • The student's curriculum vitae (CV).
